The Property Values app is an Android solution for real estate portal Onthehouse. The app combines: property profiles; comparable properties for sale as well as recently sold; property sold history; listing history; the Real Estate Exchange (REX) analytic service; and onthehouse.com.au valuation guesstimates.

Opportunity

With the Onthehouse browser site previously not offering a mobile experience, we received increasing numbers of user requests an for an android app. In the development of this app, we leveraged our learnings from the iOS app, incorporated further improvements where we could, and optimised built-in device features such as GPS to provide relevant results to the user's current location. The opportunity for real innovation however came through the display of our REX Data - a large table showing average house and unit sale prices for the suburb over time. We prototyped several solutions, to clearly and elegantly display a large amount of data on a small screen. A slider along the time axis with the prices displayed at that point in time proved to be the best solution.

Result

The media sales team had been working on increasing the Onthehouse offering, and this new android app launched with sponsorship from Westpac Bank provided just that. We were also able to satisfy a number of keen users.
